Exotic SuperFoods

The world is a very diverse place. There are tens of thousands of foods from which humans can derive nutrients, but only certain foods grow in one particular area. Coconuts will grow in tropical climates, but only within 40° of the equator. Salmon are only found in certain northern seas. The diversity of life is just too large for all foods to be available in one place.

The world is now shrinking. Information can travel instantly, and products and goods can travel almost as quickly. We now have access to a “global supermarket” of nourishment from which we should take full advantage. Though these foods may yet be “everyday edibles”, they may offer winning combinations of high nutrient levels, taste, and versatility. The following exotic superfoods are worth the extra effort to obtain.
